Moore Place Kitchen
PROJECT SCOPE

Originally built in the mid ’90s, Moore Place was is desperate need of an upgrade. The old U-shaped kitchen was confined and had little functional storage and the client wanted to take advantage of the unused breakfast bar. The new design conceived by DISKO expands the footprint; doubling the kitchen size and tripling the available storage with ergonomic drawers in the island and back wall as well as contrasting metallic finish upper cabinets all with soft close mechanisms from BLUM.

LIGHT IT UP

A seamless wash of light brings warmth and joy to the heart of the home at Moore Place. Integrated LED light strips have been embedded into the upper cabinets and corner shelf which seamlessly flow the length of the countertops unbroken by the rangehood; an important detail for the client. A minimalist linear pendant light floats above the island counter clad in black aluminium which echos and draws forward the deep tones of the overhead cabinetry behind. Dimmable controls were specified for all lights to give the client the ability to create many moods; from bright and alive to intimate and cosy.

IN THE DETAIL

Quality fixtures and appliances are a hallmark of DISKO project and Moore Place is no different. Villeroy & Boch tapware in Gunmetal PVD not only looks contemporary and elevated but comes with a 15-year warranty to ensure a lifestyle of service. Bosch appliances including a new energy-efficient induction stove, rangehood and pyrolytic oven are sure to make this new kitchen a delight for any budding cook. A subtle herringbone splashback brings in detail that draws the eye along the length of the back wall and is further enhanced by the variation in the surface of the selected tiles.
