Bowler Street Laundry
PROJECT SCOPE

The Bowler Laundry is a compact but hardworking utility space, reimagined to bring order, elegance, and subtle charm to a Paddington Queenslander townhouse. Our design focused on maximising vertical storage, concealing daily clutter, and incorporating traditional details that honour the home’s character. The result is a calm and functional space with a timeless, refined palette.

BEST OF BOTH WORLDS

In keeping with the home’s heritage, we selected a dark olive pressed metal splashback that brings texture and a touch of traditional charm. It contrasts beautifully with the minimal white laminate cabinetry, which keeps the room feeling bright and open. Chrome tapware and fittings keep things classic, while the existing timber floorboards tie everything together with warmth and continuity.

The Bowler Laundry may be modest in size, but it’s now working hard behind the scenes—proof that good design isn’t about how much space you have, but how thoughtfully you use it.

EVERYTHING IN ITS PLACE

Tucked into the corner of a Queenslander townhouse, the original laundry was a missed opportunity—lacking storage, struggling with clutter, and not making the most of its small footprint. Our client wanted a space that felt calm and considered, while also delivering on functionality.

The redesign introduced full-height cabinetry to take advantage of the ceiling height, creating ample storage and a neater look overall. A dedicated cabinet was built to discreetly house the vacuum and charging station—keeping everyday essentials out of sight but easily accessible. The kitty litter tray, once in full view, now has a clever home off the floor and out of the way, helping the space feel more intentional.
